Headteachers Welcome

Welcome to Riverstone Academy, a specialist primary school for children aged 5–11.

We support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, including those with additional special educational needs.

Our aim is for every child to feel safe, develop a sense of belonging and make meaningful progress. We understand that some children arrive having found school difficult. We take time to get to know them, build trusting relationships and understand the support they need to engage in learning.

Our GROW values guide our daily work. They shape how we teach, how we respond when children find things difficult and how we celebrate achievement.

We combine clear routines and high expectations with teaching adapted to each child’s needs and starting points. Alongside academic learning, we support children to develop their communication, independence, relationships and confidence.

Working closely with families is central to this approach. Getting to know you and your child is an important part of their start at Riverstone Academy.

As Headteacher, I am committed to building a school where children feel understood, valued and supported to succeed. I look forward to welcoming you to Riverstone Academy and sharing our work with you.
